Description

The Greiner 780261 MASTERBLOCK® is a 96 Deep Well polypropylene block (plate). Each well has a fill volume of 1.2 ml. The MASTERBLOCK® is useful for holding crystallization screen reagents when using liquid handling automation or multi channel pipets. Each plate is sterile and packaged individually. Round bottom well for complete reagent recovery. ClearChoice™ virgin polypropylene resin (autoclavable to 121°C). SBS recommended dimensions. Alphanumerically coded wells with chimney-style, round well top.

The Microplate Lid is a temporary cover for the crystallization screens in 96 deep well format. The single position, high profile cover with individual condensation rings over each reagent well can help minimize reagent evaporation from 96 deep well reagent plates as well as protect the reagents from particulate and contamination. The individually wrapped, sterile Microplate Lid is made from optically clear polystyrene. Greiner 656171.

The Cap Mat is made of ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA). Resistant to DMSO and can be used in a temperature range between -20 and +60 degrees Celsius. Suitable for sealing Greiner 780261 1 milliliter Deep Well Plate (HR3-105). These cap mats are not piercable. Supplied sterile. Greiner part number 381061.

Description

During streak seeding, one touches the Seeding Tool to crystalline material to dislodge, remove and transfer small crystals (seeds) to a drop that will support the growth of potentially larger and more perfect crystals.

A seed can provide a template on which additional macromolecules can assemble and under the proper conditions, grow to form a large single crystal. Using seeding can avoid problems associated with growing crystals from spontaneous nucleation. Seeds can grow into larger crystals in the metastable region of the solubility curve, which is a region of lower, relative supersaturation. One can also streak seed from phase separation or amorphous material as a diagnostic to confirm whether the material is crystalline.

The Seeding Tool is a 1 cm natural fiber attached to a stainless steel pin and plastic handle. The Seeding Tool is supplied with a cover to protect the fiber and when the cover is placed on the back side of the Seeding Tool, it makes an excellent handle.

Description

The MRC Under Oil 96 Well Crystallization Plate is designed for microbatch crystallization.

The plate was developed at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, United Kingdom) in collaboration with Dr. Jan Löwe and colleagues. It is a result of many years of experience in successful robotic high-throughput crystallization and combines many of the features not earlier available to the crystallographer.

The new MRC Under Oil 96 Well Crystallization Plate is designed for microbatch crystallization using paraffin, silicon oil, or a mixture of the two. Following the initial experiment, evaporation of the drop through the oil allows for second crystallization stage, enabling further crystal growth as a consequence of concentration. This is different from other experiments in that the conditions are then extreme in nature and permit new conditions to arise.

The new MRC Under Oil 96 Well Crystallization Plate offers unique properties that make it ideal for both nanoliter crystallization screening and microliter optimization alike. Made from an optically superior polymer and with a new design of the wells, the plate allows easy crystal viewing and retrieval.

The wells are wide conical and have a polished surface on both sides important for perfect illumination. The micro numbering ensures that you will never get lost again (visible by microscope). Better Sealing
Wide partition walls between the wells give plenty of area for good sealing with tape for the initial experiments of microbatch. No central bending occurs in this very robust structure.

Recommended Volumes
Typical volumes validated for these plates are 20 µl of oil with a shot through sample delivery of 100 nanoliter to 4 microliter.

SBS Standard
The plates are designed to the 96 well SBS standard for all common holders and external numbering (A – H, 1 – 12) with corner location that make the plate easy to use in a robotic sampler. The plate can also be centrifuged for better results. The unique MRC Under Oil 96 well Crystallization plate offers a new way of microbatch crystallography. The 96 wells are optically perfect, designed to observe crystals under a microscope.

Unique Polymer
The proprietary polymer is optically perfect – ultra low binding and guaranteed to have central drop location in the well. There are no static effects and thus micro-droplet jumping is avoided.

The MRC 2 Well Crystallization plate manufactured by Swissci is a 2 drop chamber, 96 well crystallization plate for sitting drop vapor diffusion. Molded from a UVP polymer, the plate is UV compatible.

The plate was developed at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, United Kingdom) in collaboration with Dr. Jan Löwe. Designed to meet the stringent requirements specified by crystallographers, and made of proprietary new materials that facilitate enhanced imaging, the MRC Crystallization Plate provides easier access and removal of crystals, improved mixing of reagent and sample, and reduced sample and reagent volumes.

Easy Crystal Retrieval Raised wide wells make the crystal mounting especially easy.

Easy Viewing The wells are a wide conical shape and have a lens effect for perfect illumination. The micro-numbering ensures you will never get lost again when using the microscope. The SWISSCI 3 Lens Crystallization Plate is an ideal product for protein crystallization presented in a 96-well plate format.

The plate was developed in collaboration with very experienced protein crystallographers. It is the result of many years of experience in successful robotic high-throughput crystallization and combines many of the necessary features not earlier available to the crystallographer.

The SWISSCI 3 Lens crystallization Plate offers unique properties that make it ideal for both nanoliter crystallization screening and mircoliter optimization alike. Made from optically superior polymer (UVP) and with a new design of the wells, the plate allows easy crystal viewing and retrieval.

The Advantages of the 3 Lens Crystallization Plate Easy crystal retrieval Raised wide wells make the crystal mounting especially easy.

Easy viewing The wells are a wide conical shape and have a lens effect for perfect illumination. The micro-numbering ensures you will never get lost again (visible by microscope). The optically superior polymer is UV transmissible and may be used to differentiate between salt and protein crystals.

Better sealing Wide partition walls between the wells give plenty of area for good sealing with tape. No central bending occurs in this very robust structure. Excellent long term storage – no sample evaporation.

Wide range of volumes Typical volumes are 20-40 µl of reservoir and 50 nl-5 µl drop size. The 288 optical wells offer three times the number of experimental constructions.

The Lipidic Cubic Phase Crystallization (LCP) plate facilitates the automation and increased throughput of LCP crystallization set-ups. This novel system enables LCP screening to be performed accurately and with ease – using manual – or automated systems to complete the delivery of the solutions.

Working with innovative scientists Professor Gebhard Schertler and Pat Edwards from the MRC laboratory in Cambridge, Swissci AG developed a new system for setting up LCP screens.

The Swissci LCP plate ensures crystallography set-up is fast, cost effective and robotically adaptable. In addition Ultra Violet light can be used with the glass / UVP polymers to visualize proteins without the light scattering associated with traditional polymeric solutions.

The LCP technique for crystallizing membrane proteins can be difficult and time-consuming to set up as it utilizes highly viscous lipid mesophases to reconstitute proteins. Swissci AG and MRC overcame these problems with the LCP plate. This product combines an easy to use sandwich system with dedicated coupling tapes and thin film UVP cover plates. It conforms to SBS standards and thus is perfect for modern automation applications where high throughput is required.

The Advantages of the LCP plate
• Ready to use the plate fits laboratory robotics and uses a Swissci unique polymer to ensure UV visualization is not compromised by polarization.
• Easy sealing with dry tabbed adhesive tape exposure and thin UVP cover film. Included in the kit is a plate leveling device to ensure the cover is perfectly adhered to the bottom LCP plate.
• No cross contamination and SBS standard.
• Unique low tack plate security allows for the sandwich plate to be removed from the base plate when required – in-situ x-ray data collection and structure determination is then enabled.

Here’s a description of the LCP plate from bottom to top. a) An SBS standard base plate frame support. b) 0.7 mm thick UVP plastic slide drop support containing all 96 drop wells with 0.1 mm thick layer of low tack sealant (no sealant in drop area). Flat, circular, 6 mm diameter drop wells to contain the LCP, sample and reagent. c) Removable brown/tan paper protects sealant until plate is ready to use. d) 0.1 mm thick UVP sealing film. e) Removable protective dust cover. The kit is completed with a Swissci plate leveling device.

To use the LCP plate, pipette LCP, sample and reagent into the 96 drop wells. Peel back and remove the brown/tan paper to expose the adhesive. Place the sealing film onto the LCP plate. Remove the protective film for viewing.

Maximum drop volume is 1.6 microliters per well.

Description

The disposable Diaplate is a 96 well micro-dialysis plate ideal for the desalting of protein from very small volumes of up to a maximum of 3.2 µl.

The sample solution is pipetted into each of the 96 wells with up to 0.35ml dialysis solution used for exchange. The Diaplate is ANSI/SLAS 1 2004 standards providing high throughput use with robotic dispensing. Dialysis is recommended for 2-3 hours and then the dialysis buffer is changed being left for another 2-3 hours to achieve over 90% exchange. Further dialysis steps can be carried out as required. Incubation, rocking table for speed and moisture chamber for full humidification can be applied to the experiment if desired.

Each of the 96 wells has a separate regenerated cellulose membrane inside meaning no cross contamination or leakage between wells. The size of the compounds that pass through the membrane are determined by its Molecular Weight Cut Off (MWCO). The Swissci Diaplate comes as standard with a specially selected membrane that has a MWCOs of 10,000 Daltons. The Diaplate kit includes: Diaplate with 200 Micron Pressure Adhesive Spacer, 200 Micron UVP Cover Film, engraved UV Protective Cover and a sealing Paddle. Swissci W82010.

Art Robbins Instruments has developed the ideal family of plates for crystallography applications: the Intelli-Plate. All versions of the Intelli-Plate have the SBS microplate footprint and standard well spacing and are ideal for manual or automated processing.

The Intelli-Plate 96-2 Original crystallization plate (Art Robbins 102-0011-00 Hampton Research HR3-297 and HR3-299) is an optically clear plate for sitting drop vapor diffusion crystallization. All wells have standard 9 mm spacing to conform to SBS standards with 8 vertical wells along the left side of the plate (A-H) and 12 horizontal wells along the top of the plate (1-12). This plate features two locations for sample per reservoir. The sample drop locations are located along the left side of the reagent reservoir, along the Y-axis of the plate. The sample wells are concave depressions on the ledge above the adjacent, flat bottom reagent reservoir. One sample well is located above the second sample well. The top sample well can hold 10 µl or less of sample. The lower sample well can hold 4 µl or less of sample. The reagent reservoir is typically filled with 100 µl of reagent and is capable of holding up to 300 µl of reagent. The sidewalls separating adjacent wells or reservoirs are 0.9 and 1.0 mm thick in order to offer a larger area for sealing the plate and a separation of the reservoirs. This plate is rigid, with virtually no torsional flex and is designed for either manual or automated pipetting. Plates are made of polystyrene.

The plates can be sealed using Crystal Clear Sealing Film (HR3-609), 3 inch wide Crystal Clear Sealing Tape (HR4-506) or ClearSeal Film™ (HR4-521).

DESCRIPTION

The 72 Well Microbatch Plate consists of a 6 by 12 well layout. Paraffin, Silicon, or Al’s Oil is poured into the trough area of the plate, submerging all 72 wells under oil. Sample and reagent are then pipetted into each of the wells. The plate is available as a plasma-treated, hydrophilic version for screening or an untreated, hydrophobic version for optimization. The hydrophilic version gives better liquid handling with small volumes, while the hydrophobic version reduces crystal nucleation and helps to prevent the crystals from sticking to the plastic.

The CrystalMation Intelli-Plate 96-3 low-profile crystallization plate (Art Robbins 102-0001-13 Hampton Research HR3-118 and HR3-119) is a low profile version of the Intelli-Plate 96-3 LVR, Low Volume Reservoir (Art Robbins 102-0001-03 Hampton Research HR3-183 and HR3-185). The plate is designed for sitting drop vapor diffusion crystallization experiments. It is constructed from optically clear, UV-transmissible, chemically resistant plastic with superior low birefringence. The low-profile construction allows for higher density in plate storage and imaging systems, maximizing your investment and valuable space. The plate is designed to be a substantial improvement in existing low-profile plates, allowing for superior sealing due to thicker well design and a flat sealing surface. It has been built to the SBS (Society for Biomolecular Screening) standard dimensions with 8 vertical wells along the left side of the plate (A-H) and 12 horizontal wells along the top of the plate (1-12). It is compatible with automated instrumentation including the CrystalMation line of instruments from Rigaku. The plate features three identical sized sample drop wells per reservoir. The wells are concave depressions along the left side (Y-axis) of the plate and are located on the ledge above the adjacent, flat bottom reagent reservoir. Each well features a round bottom for easy crystal harvesting and can hold up to 1 µl of sample. The multiple well design allows for combinatorial experiments, complex co-crystallization experiments for ligand screening, or for drop concentration variation. The reagent reservoir is typically filled with 50 to 70 µl of reagent. Reservoir volume: 100 µl max. Drop well volume: 1 µl max. Plates are made of cyclic olefin. UV transmissible and low birefringence.

Description

The CrystalWand Magnetic is designed to be used exclusively with the CrystalCap, CrystalCap ALS, and CrystalCap SPINE systems during transfer of the caps from the vial to the goniometer head and from the goniometer to the vial. The 6 1/2” (165 mm) long chrome plated steel wand features a plastic housing enclosing a spring tensioned plunger that when depressed, moves a non-magnetic steel platform away from the magnet housed in the end of the wand. This causes the steel CrystalCap to detach from the wand and be placed readily into the vial. When the platform is retracted, the wand securely holds the steel CrystalCap Magnetic.
